To be entitled to organise the World Equestrian Games in one of their towns, the countries which are candidates must a present candidacy file to the Fédération Equestre Internationale. Only files which are presented and supported by the National Equestrian Federation are acceptable.

Above all, the file must meet the very detailed technical specifications laid down by the FEI. Then, as with all candidate applications, it must highlight the advantages of the host site which is being considered for the World Equestrian Games, the organisation that will be used, a balanced projected budget, the communication strategy and the mobilization which surrounds the event in order to convince the members of the FEI’s committee of the feasibility and the excellence of the project.
