Laurent Beauvais, the President of the Lower Normandy Region
Elected on Friday 13 June 2008
« The World Equestrian Games represent a wonderful opportunity to promote Normandy throughout the world. This why this must be the project of all the people of Normandy! But apart from the actual sports event, this is also a project which must allow us to strengthen and develop our equine industry which currently represents more than 9, 000 jobs. Lastly, this is awonderful opportunity for all of the local authorities which we have brought together as part of Normandy 2014 to work together with a shared objective. So let’s get in the running for Normandy 2014! »
Philippe Bonneau, the Vice-President of the Lower Normandy Region, in charge of the ventures and policies of the equine industry
Elected on Friday 13 June 2008
« Hosting the World Equestrian Games 2014 means having the opportunity to strengthen the equine culture of Normandy, to develop the performance of this industry and to boost our region’s international image. It also means finding the means to promote this sport and make it accessible to everyone. For all of these reasons, the Franco-Norman candidacy must be a concern for all the people of Normandy: long live Normandy and long live Normandy 2014. »
